AutoNation - Damage to my car while waiting for warranty service

Feb 02, 2022

Marla Kiwacz — USA

I own a 2015 Hyundai Genesis. In the 2nd week in December my car was taken in there for service work and warranty work. While waiting for the AC to be completed because it quit working, our town had a severe thunderstorm that created what I was told a small tornado. The service area closed their big bay doors due to the rain and wind. Two of the big service doors blew off and damaged several cars, including mine. When I asked for a copy of the insurance to see the policies on this, I was refused. Then when I said I was going to call the news and a lawyer, they said to contact AutoNation and Ford Headquarters because they do not want the dealership to be exposed. The dealership told me that AutoNation's Insurance does not cover natural disasters and I have to fix and pay a deductible to fix my own car. The weather did not damage my car, your service bay doors did. Maybe fix your bay doors and secure them better. I don't know what else to say. I do not have a car and my husband and I have been sharing a car and we both work 2 jobs each. I reached out to the General Manager and left a message and was told that he does not deal with customers. I have proof that one of the cars damaged was a lot car and they wrote that off as lot damage. But they refuse to fix my car? My car will need passenger door, new headlights, front bumper, hood. I look forward to hearing from you concerning this issue immediately or I will be calling 8 on your Side, Tampa, FL for further investigation if Ford or AutoNation does not fix my car and contacting a lawyer. There is more to the story and I will be available by phone at 941.345.0522. The dealership is AutoNation at 5325 14th Street West, Bradenton, FL 34207 Thank you for your time, Marlee The damage is much worse in person then in the photos attached.
